Technical data

The Mercedes 230 SL followed the Mercedes 190 SL which was built up until 1963. The timeless, austere design that was first seen in the Mercedes 300 SE sedan in 1961, was continued in the 230 SL: many see this version as the most beautiful Mercedes since the 1960s.
The 230 SL is characterized by its refined, lively handling, and by its very high constructive and technical quality. The car also offers much space, many comforts and practical conveniences. The open two-person roadster is also available with a hardtop, which changes the car into a closed coupe. The Mercedes-Benz 230 SL carried the nickname of Pagode because of the design of the hardtop windows.
