The Mercedes 250 SL was produced alongside the 230 SL from 1966 until 1968. The timeless, austere design that was first seen in the Mercedes 300 SE sedan in 1961, was continued in the 230 SL, the 250 SL and thereafter the 280 SL: many see these versions as the most beautiful Mercedes-Benz creations since the 1960s.
The 250 SL is characterized by its refined, lively handling and by its very high constructive and technical quality. The car also offers much space, many comforts and practical conveniences. The open two-person roadster is also available with a hardtop, which changes the car into a closed coupe. The Mercedes-Benz 230 SL/250 SL/280 SL carried the nickname of 'Pagoda' because of the design of the hardtop.
