Information
The Wolseley
Hornet Special was produced between 1932 and 1934. The standard Hornet
versions were already in production from the year 1930. The Wolseley
Hornet was designed upon a modified Morris Minor chassis. six cylinder
engine Wolseley Hornet Special, year 1933. Colour white with a black leather interior. This beautiful Hornet special is in very good condition with a magnificent patina! This Wolseley Hornet was sold new to Miss Taylor in England. In the year 1934 the automobile returned to the Wolseley factory to be modified for competition use. Amongst others an oil cooler was mounted and high compression pistons (see text above) From 1934 until 1941 this Hornet special competed successfully in several racing and rally competitions. This beauty came to The Netherlands 28 years ago. The first Dutch owner had the car for 18 years. During those years the car was restored with respect for originality over a 3 year period. We sold the car previously in 2001. The Wolseley Hornet special is a scarce car, only 2307 were built. This Wolseley Hornet special drives delightful and the six cylinder sound is fantastic! |
