The Triumph Herald 1200 was sold from 1961 until 1970. The Herald 1200 was the bigger motorized sister of the 948 cc Herald which was in production since 1959.
Just like the older Herald models the 1200 was available as a two door saloon and convertible. A month after these models a station wagon (estate) was presented. On the 1200 disc brakes were available optionally. On the 1963 Herald 12/50 disc brakes became standard equipment. The Triumph Herald is built upon a sturdy chassis featuring all independent suspension all round. The car has a very narrow turning circle of about 8 metres!
