The Alfa
Romeo Alfetta series was the successor of the Giulia series. The 1974
presented Alfetta GTV can be seen as the successor of the Giulia 2000
GTV 'Bertone'.
The Alfetta series introduced sharp modern styling and car design in the
Alfa Romeo stable. The wedge shaped design by Giugiaro looks still
modern after more than 30 years. The hatchback bodywork offers enough
space for 4 persons. The interior, especially the dashboard looks very
racy in the early versions. The rev-counter is in your line of vision
while driving and the other instruments are placed more to the center of
the dashboard. The later models feature a more common dashboard with all
instruments just behind the steering wheel. The technical layout was
also uncommon for normal road cars. The gearbox is fitted near the
differential (transaxle) to obtain the ideal weight- balance of 50% at
front and 50% at the rear of the car. In the year 1981 the newly
developed Alfa Romeo V6 engine was mated with the GTV. This model was
named Alfetta GTV6. The Alfetta GTV is a fast car, sporty/comfortable
and it handles very well; a real GT! The Alfetta GTV range was
discontinued in 1986. As late as 1995 a Pininfarina designed GTV
successor was presented together with a Spider successor.

kilometers, cautious owners hardly left any traces of use. It is very
