The MG PA saw
the light of day in 1934 as the successor of the J-type models. The
chassis construction was taken over from the J-type but it was made
longer for the PA. Starting with the PA the distinctive MG design with
the flowing wings was introduced which were now bolted to the body. In
the MG PA we strongly recognise the shape of the later presented MG T
series. The T series started the enormous success of MG in the United
States of America.
Compared to the J-series mechanically a lot had been improved; the
engine was redesigned and featured three main bearings now, the steering
was improved by fitting Bishop cam steering, the drum brakes were
enlarged up to 12 inch diameter, the differential was improved and last
but not least a better clutch was fitted.
The MG PA was available as open two seater, open four seater and as
Airline coupe model. In the years 1934 and 1935 a total of only 2000 of
these MG PA models have been built.
