The Triumph 2000 roadster TRA was the more powerful successor of the Triumph 1800 Roadster 18TR which was build from the year 1946 until the year 1948. Interesting detail is that the 18TR engine was used in the Jaguar 1.5 litre as well.
The Triumph 2000 Roadster TRA was built in the years 1948 and 1949 and was powered by a more powerful 2 litre engine.
Additionally a few other improvements were made to the car; the car became extra cross bracing to the frame and a Standard Vanguard power train.
The Triumph 2000 roadster was equipped with a fully synchronized 3- speed gearbox which was operated from the steering column. The gear-lever location at the steering column was very convenient when three persons were sitting on
the car's front-bench.
The Triumph Roadster was designed by Frank Callaby who gave the car a very classic shape and styling for a post-war car. the design shows a set back radiator, a dickey seat
and exposed headlamps.
The dickey seat is a very nice detail in the design of the Triumph Roadster; offering two seats and a windscreen.
The Triumph roadster is a somewhat rare car.  Triumph 1800 roadster; 2501 car produced, Triumph 2000 roadster; 2000 cars produced.
