The Nekaf Jeep is a Willys Jeep which was built in license in the Netherlands. Some parts are the same as with the Willys Jeep, other parts were obtained from local manufacturers. The Nekaf was built by the Dutch Kaizer Frazer Factory in Rotterdam.
In the early fifties of the twentieth century the Dutch army invited Nekaf and Daf to make a proposition for a light multi purpose military vehicle. The army needed new Jeeps to renew it's fleet. The cars they used those days were old American Willys and Ford GPW Jeeps which were in use since the second world war.
The Dutch army chose the Nekaf Jeep to follow up the old Jeeps. Between 1955 and 1958 a total of 5676 Nekaf Jeeps have been built. The Nekaf Jeep was used by the Dutch army for twenty years.
