When Lancia
was taken over by Fiat in the year 1969 some skeptics stated that the
cars which were going to be developed from that day on would only be a
shade of the true Lancia automobiles presented in the past.
The history proved to us that Fiat was very much dedicated to the
pedigree of the Lancia make.
Impressive Lancia models of the recent past are: the Lancia Stratos rally
car, the Lancia Delta
HF Integrale, the Lancia 032 rally car, the Lancia Monte Carlo and the Lancia Thema 8.32
equipped with a V8 Ferrari engine.
The technological base concept of the Lancia Thema was developed in a
strategic alliance between Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Saab. By this
cooperation the firms were able to develop a blueprint for a luxury
saloon and they were able to share the high development costs. This
project resulted in three very different cars; the Lancia Thema, the
Alfa Romeo 164 and the Saab 9000.
The Lancia Thema was given a distinguished bodywork and a very
luxurious, leather and wood trimmed, classic interior, as to be expected
in a fine Lancia saloon.
The "crème de la crème" of the Lancia Thema model series was
the Lancia Thema 8.32 which was powered by a Ferrari V8 engine... This
extraordinary sports-saloon was built only 2370 times, a very small
number to modern production standards.
The Lancia Thema 8.32 is a luxurious four door "Gran Turismo"
with great roadholding capabilities, excellent comfort and a superb
engine...
The Lancia Thema 8.32 already is a classic, not in years but by it's
pedigree and exclusive character.
Locating a specimen in excellent condition with a sound service history
is almost impossible because many second and third owners did not have a
clue about the special service attention the Ferrari engine asks for...
Most of the 8.32 cars were neglected in terms of specialist service and
were "raced to death" by indifferent owners.
A fully original Lancia Thema 8.32 in immaculate top condition, with
very low mileage, and a fully documented and sound service history is
very, very scarce...
